Before we go any further, we will need to scrape excess quartz & flakes from the surface. If excess quartz & flakes are not scraped, there will be issues with the result.
Before we go any further, we will vacuum the floor again to get rid of any dirt or debris remaining on the surface. This is a simple but important step in the epoxy flooring process.
Now, we’ll apply the main component of epoxy floors. The epoxy resin is mixed with the hardener to create the epoxy coating. In the case of metallic epoxy flooring, they have to be mixed with metallic powders. Then we will apply the coating to every part of the floor equally. After applying the coating, we will apply a second layer of quartz or flake chips if needed. If necessary, the floor will be sanded.
Before applying the top coat, we will scrape the excess quartz and flake chips from the second layer. Then the clear top coat made up of polyurethane or poly aspartic top coat is applied. This will conclude the overall flooring process. But, you’ll have to wait for a few days before using the floor again.
